Stauf DPM Liquid is a one-component liquid damp-proof membrane supplied in a 5kg unit, used to seal residual moisture in concrete and cement screed subfloors before wood flooring installation. If a moisture test shows your subfloor is above the safe threshold for timber, applying a liquid DPM is the professional way to protect your new floor from moisture-related failure — cupping, delamination and adhesive breakdown.
Stauf DPM Liquid is roller-applied directly to the prepared subfloor and cures to form a seamless moisture barrier. Once cured, engineered wood flooring can be bonded straight over it using a compatible MS-polymer adhesive such as Stauf Multilayer, without the need for a separate primer in most cases.
Coverage: approximately 15–20m² per 5kg unit at a single coat, depending on subfloor porosity; damp subfloors may require two coats. Always confirm subfloor moisture content with a hygrometer test before installation — this step protects both your floor and your warranty.
