Oak Nosing

Oak Nosing is a solid oak stair and step edge profile that gives the exposed edge of a stair tread, landing or raised floor a clean, hard-wearing finish. Machined from real oak to match our engineered oak flooring ranges, this nosing protects the vulnerable board edge from impact and wear while providing a safe, rounded step-over transition.

Oak nosing is the correct detail wherever your flooring meets a step-down: staircases, split-level living areas, landings, hearths and doorway thresholds with a height change. Because it is solid oak, it can be stained, oiled or lacquered on site to blend seamlessly with your chosen floor finish — whether that's a natural, smoked, grey or white-oiled tone.

Fitting: fix with a flexible wood adhesive and pin or screw as required, always leaving the correct expansion gap between the nosing and the floor boards. Measure each step edge and order slightly over-length so every piece can be cut and scribed for a precise fit.
